Design Engineering
The Engineering and Design Unit is composed of three units.
Engineering Unit
The EN-MME Engineering Unit is in charge of tackling engineering studies for CERN groups and experiments. We typically adopt analytical and numerical approaches, backed up with experimental tests and prototyping when possible.
Design Office
The Design Office combines advanced mechanical design and calculation with vacuum engineering skills. They work with simulation experts and manufacturing specialists to deliver solutions that perform at some of the lowest possible pressures.
MechLab
CERN’s Mechlab undertakes physical and mechanical measurements for a wide range of components and devices for present and future high-energy physics projects in a large variety of environments.
